The { IDEA } Posting Page!

Welcome to the { Idea } Posting Page!

Now, you may be asking yourself

"What is an Idea Posting Page?  What kinds of ideas?"

Well, this is where you can post Ideas for new hats, cape sets, color combos, etc!
If I feel I have the ability to make your idea, I'll take on the challenge!
I love hearing about what is popular too!
I specialize for hats, scarves, photo props and hair accessories - just to give you a basic idea of what to suggest

**Now, I try very hard to steer away from licensed creations, such as Disney characters, because they are a registered trademark and I could technically get into a LOT of trouble if I were found selling such items without the owners knowledge. So please, don't ask me to make something that isn't mine -Thanks!

You can post with your own blogger account, gmail, etc OR you can post anonymously, if you like.

Don't be shy! I love hearing new { Ideas! }

Sweet and Simple Baby Afghans

I was recently approached by a Soon-To-Be-Mother about if I made Baby Afghans to match any of my hat designs.  I replied I had not but I would love to create something new and custom for her to match the Teddy Bear Hat she had been eyeing.  I LOVED making this because I rarely get to make afghans.  I made an 18" x 18" size for her and loved it so much I wanted to add it to my shop.

Using a classic, yet simple, design: The Granny Square.  I love the textural appearance and the Border Stitch.  It has a very comfy feel and the Zig-Zaggy border makes it a little whimsy.  Best thing about this style: It can be made using multiple colors!  Alternate the colors every third row, or keep it solid but change the border color... the options are nearly endless!

Sizes:
18" x 18"
20" x 20"
22" x 22"
24" x 24"

I recently added some new colors to my collection, so I decided to update the Selection Chart ^_^

Handmade and Giveaways....

I have decided that I am going to do my best to post Giveaways and Contests that I am sponsoring so the few fans who hop over to my blog can get in on the action. I mean, who doesn't like a good giveaway, contest, auction, or otherwise? Especially when they are sponsored by Artisans and Craftsmen and women?

Well, moving on to the Good Stuff.  Moon Beans Gifts and Jewelry is getting ready for their 500 Fan Giveaway!  I have entered my Prince or Princess Crown as one of the many great items to win.  I'll be keeping it Made To Order in the winners choice of color (Baby Blue, Soft Pink or Off White) in the 0-3 month sizing - perfect for Newborn Baby photos.

Owls!

SOOooooo, since it is summer, I was trying think of different items I can crochet for the season. I mean, who in their right mind wears warm hats in SUMMER?  Okay, so I know some do because they live in colder climates.  Anyway, this is what I can up with!  I still need to attach the bands so they'll create a cute headwrap, but I LOVE this little guy!

This would also be perfect on an alligator clippie.  I also want to create designs for a lady bug, bumble bee, and other cute motifs!

Come One, Come All Sports Fans!

A co-worker of mine asked if I could make a hat for her nephews' new baby boy.  She begrudgingly stated they are Bronco Fans (She's a Packers Fan) and I immediately though of this!  All of the team colors and an adorable Football Motif!  I love the simplicity and bold statement it makes!

Customize your team colors!

Close-up of the Motif - the stitching helps the motif stand out against the Team Colors

I CANNOT wait to get this in my shop because Football season is going to start!

Sweet Little Princess.....

or a Handsome Little Prince!

This most recent request was a blast to crochet.  After figuring out stitches and crown height, I was able to add some ADORABLE little crafting pearls to finish it off.  Obviously the boys crown won't have them, but I had to add a few clusters to the girls crown.

Mr. Reeve, once again, joked I should crochet a blue one since apparently we can only have baby boys. *shakes head and rolls the eyes* Men!  Hee hee ^_^

Introducing......

The Little Monster!!

This was an idea suggested to me by a photographer I have been doing business with.  I had a BLAST crocheting it and putting it together!

My husband starting joking with me that when we have our first little one, I need to make a matching pair for him and the baby.  I started laughing and agreed wholeheartedly.

Also Introducing the Poof Pom Pom Beanie!  Also suggested by the same photographer!  I used a new type of yarn for this design so it was a bit more challenging.  It is adorable!
Doesn't she look so cozy?  This yarn is textured and multi-colored, simply fantastic! Each one is One Of A Kind (OOAK).

Clearing out inventory

Well, I finally decided it was time to start clearing out my office. Naturally, I have containers and boxes full of yarn, old projects, half-finished projects/ideas in the works, and hats that I made but forgot about and were lost til yesterday. Yes, my office was that cluttered.

Yesterday I held an Auction to move some of the items out, giving them homes where they'll be used and loved! Yay! Anything not bid on will be going into a new section of my Etsy shop: Clearance section! Hopefully that will also help me keep my office de-cluttered. The pups, Lizzy and Elli both were quite helpful while I was taking photos of the Auction items. Elli helped me trip several times when I wasn't looking where I was going, teaching me to look before I move. Lizzy helped tip over the backdrop (foam board) and drive me crazy as always. Hahaha, I love my pups. I can't ever be angry with them, well not for long anyways. They're both very talented with the Puppy-Dog-Eyes.

I'm hoping to get my shop reopened by early February as of now. I'm still working on the remaining hats from the Big Hat Idea contest, which will then be put into the Final Vote to see which of those six win Best Hat. Some have been very challenging, like Batman. Others, like the Cupcake were still a little challenging but easy to go 'over the top'. More details to come Saturday.

As some know, February will be my Etsy shop SECOND Anniversary! Ahh! I can't believe it! I plan on having a good sale for it as well as my Loyal FB Fans who have stuck with me from the beginning. Thanks you guys!

Overdue Update!

I must admit, I was surprised to find I hadn't updated my blog in over a year. I suppose both the 2010 and 2011 Christmas Seasons had me pretty busy, PLUS the fact my hubby and I bought our first place this last summer. Well, I'm back and I hope to be more consistent in my blogging.

I've been very blessed to have several Photographers purchase my designs and send my BEAUTIFUL photos of the designs modeled on oh-so-cute-and-kissable babies! I feel it would be a nice start to the 2012 year to showcase their work!
